1. Camps are espresso shots. They produce lots of energy, emotion, and excitement that generally doesn’t last more than a week.
2. Mentors matter more than friends.
3. People change. This is a good thing; the kid who broke a window in a dumb prank ends up being a mature small group leader. It’s also a bad thing; people– even leaders– change for the worse. Sometimes it happens really quickly.
4. Technology is a much bigger, tougher challenge for students than we usually acknowledge.
